Airport transfer
Salt Lake City International is the usual arrival point. Reserve transportation early during ski season, holidays and major events.
Flexible
Best for travelers planning grocery stops, day trips or lodging outside the main transit network. In winter, confirm tire and traction equipment before leaving the rental lot.
Door to door
A practical car-free option for hotels and condos. Confirm luggage, ski or snowboard capacity and the exact pickup location when booking.
On demand
Available from SLC, but fares and wait times can rise during storms and peak arrival periods. Verify that your vehicle has room for passengers and equipment.
Transit
Airport public transit is not a single direct ride to Park City. TRAX serves SLC Airport, and Park CityβSalt Lake commuter connections may require transfers and schedule coordination.
Driving routes
Use live navigation for the final route, especially during construction, snowstorms and special events.
From SLC
The standard route follows I-80 east from the Salt Lake Valley, then UT-224 toward Kimball Junction, Canyons Village and central Park City.
From Provo
From Provo Airport, the common route travels through Provo Canyon on US-189, continues toward Heber City, then reaches Park City by US-40 and UT-248.
From Heber
Private-aircraft arrivals and travelers coming from Heber Valley generally use US-40 and UT-248 into Park City, with connections toward Deer Valley and Old Town.
Local transportation
Park City Transit is fare-free, and regional services connect additional neighborhoods and communities. Routes and seasonal service can change, so check live schedules.
Fare-free
City buses serve major resort bases, Old Town and key visitor areas. Use the live trip planner rather than relying on an old printed schedule.
Regional
Regional routes and microtransit connect Kimball Junction, Snyderville Basin and other Summit County areas with Park City services.
Walkable core
Historic Main Street is compact and walkable, but hills, snow, stairs and icy sidewalks can affect accessibility. Choose lodging with your mobility needs in mind.
Parking
Parking near Main Street and resort bases can fill quickly. Check current parking rules and consider park-and-ride or transit options.
Before departure
A few decisions before travel can prevent the most common airport-transfer and mountain-driving problems.
Old Town, Deer Valley, Canyons Village and Kimball Junction require different drop-off and transit plans.
Shuttles, larger rental vehicles and equipment-capable rides can sell out during peak dates.
Confirm space for all bags, skis, snowboards, car seats and passengers before booking.
Check UDOT and the forecast shortly before leaving the airport rather than relying on earlier conditions.
Seasonal routes and frequencies can change, so bookmark the official trip planner and route pages.
